The Leicestershire Autism Information Hub has launched see - www.laih.org.uk - and is available as a central point for all autism services in Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland.
The team of two have now been recruited and they started on 1st May. Laura Clark and Sarah Sanders both have extensive knowledge of working with adults with autism having worked for the NAS and other organisations in befriending and mentoring roles and also providing support for people towards gaining employment.


National Autistic Society
The leading UK charity for people with autism (including Asperger syndrome) and their families.  They provide information, support and pioneering services, and campaign for a better world for people with autism.


LEAT is a charitable organisation providing a wide range of specialist support services to young people and adults with Autistic Spectrum Disorders (ASDs) and in particular Asperger syndrome, who live in the city of Leicester or the county of Leicestershire.


Leicestershire Autistic Society (LAS) was formed over 20 years ago and provides support, information and advice to families and professionals dealing with Autism in Leicestershire, Leicester City and Rutland. They are a volunteer led organisation, the vast majority of their volunteers being parents or carers of someone with ASD. One of their main aims is to continually strive to raise general awareness of ASD.

[Aspirations]Aspiro is an East Midlands based social enterprise delivering employment support for people with a lived experience of mental ill health or a learning disability. They offer services to improve individuals' skills, confidence, health and employability so they can gain and sustain a working life.  They believe everyone has the right to work.

[Translate – for adults with Asperger's and those who love them]Translate is a volunteer-run organisation addressing the needs of all people affected by Asperger Syndrome in adults.  It's central focus is to break down the barriers to understanding between those with the condition and those without.


Nervous is a befriending and social group aimed at people aged 16–25 who find it hard to make friends and would like to take part in activities and meet new people in the process.  Various activities in Leicester are available on various days of the week.
